Abstract

This article aims to determine the process of slaughtering chickens at CV Ayam Potong Mandi Angin, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province based on Islamic law using qualitative research methods. The results show that the process of slaughtering healthy chickens is carried out manually with a sharp knife and is cut in an Islamic manner by reciting Basmallah in the name of Allah SWT one by one and the chickens that have been slaughtered are confirmed dead and doused with water to remove the impression of blood and impurity and the slaughter is carried out by Muslims who have understood the procedures and etiquette of slaughtering chickens facing the Qibla. In addition, the use of a sharp knife ensures a fast and precise cut, which minimizes pain and distress for the animal, in line with Islamic teachings that emphasize kindness and humanity. Before proceeding to further processing, the workers ensure that every bird has stopped moving and bleeding completely to guarantee safety and hygiene. This practice demonstrates that the company strictly follows the requirements of Islamic law, covering all aspects from the selection of livestock, the tools used, the person performing the slaughter, and the recitation of prayers. Overall, the entire slaughtering process implemented at this facility meets the standards and provisions set by Islamic law.
